to shut down multiple developing portals with minimal help from me.” Sliding one hand around the back of Bo’s neck, Sam pulled him close and kissed his forehead.
“Judging by what I felt tonight, Adrian’s psychokinetic powers are much stronger than mine. There’s no telling what he might be able to do with the right kind of direction.” Bo was silent for a while, one hand caressing Sam’s hip. “You’ve helped him a great deal so far. Can you help him learn to deal with…what he can do?”
“I’ll do my best. But honestly, I think he needs more help than I can give him.” Bo scooted closer and rested his forehead against Sam’s. “What can we do to help him?”
“I’m not sure,” Sam admitted. “But I’ll find out.” www.samhainpublishing.com 173

Sam saw Bo’s smile even in the dark. Hands tangling in Sam’s hair, Bo pulled him close and kissed him. Their tongues wound together, and the feel of it set a fire in Sam’s belly, just as it always did.
“I love you,” Bo whispered against Sam’s lips.
“I love you.” Tilting his head, Sam nuzzled Bo’s cheek. “Go to sleep. You’re worn out.”
With a soft sigh, Bo settled against Sam’s chest, his head tucked under Sam’s chin and one arm around Sam’s waist. He was asleep in minutes, his slow, even breaths tickling Sam’s throat.
Sam lay awake, stroking Bo’s back and thinking. Undoubtedly, the weeks and months ahead would be hard on multiple levels. Adrian still had to come to terms with a talent which set him apart. Sam, Bo, Janine and Lee all had their work cut out for them in learning to get along, and to see each other in a new light. Tonight, however, marked a major turning point in all their lives, and it gave Sam real hope for their collective future.
Shutting his eyes, Sam concentrated on the scent of Bo’s hair, the sound of his breathing, the solid warmth of his body. Within moments, Sam drifted into a deep, untroubled sleep, with Bo’s heart beating slow and steady against his chest.

Epilogue
It was warm for December. Fifty-two degrees, even though the sun had almost set below the moss-hung oaks to the west. Sam leaned his elbows against the rail of the deck and gazed out over the stretch of thin winter grass to Mobile Bay, lapping at the sand about fifty feet from the back of Lee and Janine’s new house. The waning sunset tipped the choppy waves with faint gold.
Across the bay, lights clustered on the dark hump of the Eastern Shore.
The whole thing made for a peaceful Christmas picture. Sam smiled, breathing in the clean salt scent.
Behind him, he heard the French double doors open and close. Footsteps clumped across the deck. Arms wound around his waist, and a hard body pressed to his back. He leaned into the embrace, tilting his head for the warm lips kissing his neck. “Hi, Bo.”
“Hi.” Bo nipped his earlobe. “Dinner’s almost ready, are you coming in?”
“Mm-hm. Just checking out the view.”
Bo’s laugh rumbled against Sam’s back. “You’ve checked out the view at least a dozen times since we arrived this morning. Anyone would think this is the first time you’ve been here.”

“Yeah, well, we were always too busy before to spend much time out here. Besides, the view at midafternoon is not the same as the view at sunset.”
“True.” Tightening his arms around Sam, Bo rested his chin on Sam’s shoulder. “It really is beautiful here. I can’t believe Lee and Janine found this house so quickly.” The couple had heard about the place from a realtor friend barely a week after the events at their old house. It needed work, but the price was in their range, and it was available immediately. They’d moved in a few days later, giving them just enough time to get halfway settled in before Christmas.
Sam still laughed every time he remembered the look on the realtor’s face when the whole BCPI team showed up to check the new house before Janine and Lee would make an offer. He got the distinct feeling that most buyers did not require proof that a house was paranormally inactive before they would purchase it.
“I guess luck was on their side.” Turning in Bo’s arms, Sam cupped Bo’s face in both hands. “God, you look amazing today.” “So you keep telling me.”
“Only because it’s true.”
“Thank you. I could say the same to you, by the way.” Bo grabbed Sam’s
