pretty much what we do. All our cases are cool.” “Yeah, but Danny said this one sounded really active.” David shot Dean a dimpled grin. “We haven’t caught anything good on camera since Fort Medina. I’m looking forward to catching some footage we can put on the website.”
“Assuming the client will give us permission to publish our findings online.” Bo glanced at Danny. “Do you know if Andre will be here in time to sit in?” Sam looked around, belatedly noticing that Andre Meloy, co-owner and manager of the business, was nowhere to be seen. Not that it was entirely unusual. Andre often came in around midmorning and stayed until late in the night working.
“He should be, yes. He usually lets me know when he’s going to be late and he hasn’t said anything.”
As if in response to their conversation, the door swung open and Andre walked in.
He nodded at the group. “Hi.”
Everyone called hellos and good mornings. Skirting Danny’s desk, Sam sat down and booted up his computer. “Hey, Andre. We’re getting a new haunted house case.”

“We still need to talk to the guy before we decide whether or not to take the case.” Bo clapped Andre on the shoulder. “The client’s coming in at nine to talk to us, can you sit in?”

“Sure.” Unzipping his black raincoat, Andre slipped it off and hung it on the rack with the other coats and jackets. “What information do we have?” www.samhainpublishing.com 21

“Nothing yet,” Danny answered. “The gentleman said he’d rather discuss it in person.”
“Okay.” Andre glanced at the clock. “Looks like I have time for a cup of coffee.”
“That sounds good.” Sam gave Andre his most winning smile. “I could use some myself.”
Andre smirked as he passed Sam’s desk. “You should probably get up and pour yourself a cup then.”
Shaking his head, Bo followed Andre to the coffeepot. He poured some of the fragrant liquid into the Ghostbusters mug Sam kept at the office, stirred in a little of the powdered chocolate creamer sitting on the counter and brought the mug to Sam. “Here.
Anyone would think you didn’t have three cups at home just an hour ago.”
“But it tastes so much better when someone brings it to me,” Sam said, straight-faced.
Bo laughed. He bent to press a light kiss to Sam’s lips, palm stroking Sam’s hair as he straightened up again. “Andre, when Mr. Jones gets here, bring him on in, will you?”
    “Sure thing.”
With a nod at Andre and a smile for Sam, Bo turned and sauntered into his office.
Sam propped his chin in one hand and watched the hypnotic sway of Bo’s hips. The man was sex on legs. Every time Sam looked at Bo, he couldn’t help feeling a sense of profound gratitude that this incredibly sexy, beautiful, fascinating man was his lover.
Their life together might not be perfect, but the sense of intimacy and belonging he’d found with Bo was worlds above what he’d ever thought he would have. They were happy, and that was all Sam needed.
The sound of the front door opening shook Sam out of his thoughts. Tearing his gaze from the open door to Bo’s office, he clicked open the document containing the paperwork he was still finishing on the last case. He and Bo were pretty much out as a couple now, but the sight of an employee gazing moon-eyed at his boss did not tend to inspire confidence in new clients.
“Good morning,” Danny greeted the person who’d just walked in. “Can I help you?” 22

“I have an appointment with Bo for nine o’clock. I’m afraid I’m a little early.” Sam went still. He knew that voice. Had heard it just two days ago, at the most uncomfortable birthday party he’d ever attended.
Half afraid to look, he turned his head, and met the nervous gray-eyed gaze of Lee Rogers.

Chapter Three
Sam was up and walking around Danny’s desk before he even realized it. “Lee?
You’re ‘Mr. Jones’?”
Lee took a step backward at Sam’s approach, but held his gaze without flinching. “I was afraid Bo wouldn’t see me if he knew I was…well, me.” Behind Lee, Bo emerged from his office. “I wouldn’t have turned you away, Lee.

We’re in the business of helping people. That doesn’t in any way exclude people with whom we have some sort of personal relationship, no matter what that relationship might be.”

Lee’s long, thin face went faintly pink. “I
