moment, before speaking.
"We have New Jersey under control sir. We have killed thousands and have chosen some humans to make into vampires. We also have many prisoners for the warehouses," he said.
"Any problems?" asked Dragos, he could hear that Thandor was hiding something.
"Well... one of our vampires was injured," he said.
"Only one, that's not a problem," said Dragos, "who was it?"
"It was Tatianna, sir," said Thandor nervously, he knew what was coming.
"What! What happened?" screamed Dragos, "I told you to protect her.”
Tatianna was Dragos' favourite cousin. She was a beautiful redhead and an excellent vampire. She was dangerous and cruel. Tatiana had been born a vampire, two hundred years ago. Dragos had been one hundred then and he had loved her like a little sister.
"Well sir, it was two human teenagers. A boy and a girl," he said, "the boy threw boiling water in her face. When she chased them, the girl cut off her arm."
"They did what? It will take three months for her to grow a new arm! Three months!" shouted Dragos, "where are they now? I hope you caught them."
"Well no sir, we haven't. They got away and it seems they didn't stop with Tatianna. Two of our vampires were chasing a girl, when a car came and hit them. Then a girl jumped out of the car and killed one of the vampires. They escaped and their description matches the teenagers who hurt Tatianna," said Thandor.
"How could you let this happen? I will see you tomorrow night, it is almost morning." said Dragos.
Dragos was furious and he knew what he was going to do with Thandor.

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

    Dawn, the next day.
    Amy’s house.

The sun was rising when Amy, Jack and Anna arrived at Amy's house. After they rescued Anna, they parked the car in a wood so the vampires wouldn't find them. They had slept for a few hours. Next, they had driven to Amy's house. The phones still didn't work so Amy couldn't call her mother. Amy hoped she was OK.
They parked the car outside Amy's house and got out. Because it was daylight, Amy left the shovel in the car. It had saved her life two times last night, but now all the vampires were asleep. The three friends were walking towards the path, when Amy stopped.
"Something is wrong," Amy said, "I can feel it."
"What do you mean?" said Jack.
"I don't know," she said, "I just feel it."
"Look!" shouted Anna, "the door is broken!"
The three teenagers looked at the wooden, front door. It was broken, it looked like it had been kicked in by someone strong. A vampire...
"Mom!" screamed Amy, and ran as fast as she could towards the house.
    "Amy!" shouted Jack, "wait!"
But Amy was already at the door. She jumped over the broken wood and ran into the house. Anna and Jack followed her. Amy called out for her mother.
"Mom! Mom! It's me. Where are you?" she said.
It was obvious that there had been a struggle in the house, things were broken. Amy picked up a photo from the floor. The glass and frame were broken. The photo showed Amy, Jen, her mother and father. They were smiling. Slowly, Amy walked into the kitchen. What she saw next broke her heart .
Her mother was there. She was cold and lifeless. She lay on the kitchen floor, her dead eyes were staring at the ceiling.
    "Mom!" whimpered Amy, "oh mom!"
When she heard her friend's screams, Anna came running into the kitchen.
    "Christine!" she cried.
Christine Anderson had been like a mother to Anna for most of her life. Anna was distraught , for her own loss and Amy's loss.
Jack stood in the hallway and watched the two girls. He was brave when it came to fighting vampires, but now he didn't know what to say. Instead, he went out to the car to get the shovel. There was a grave that he needed to dig .
They buried Christine Anderson at 11am that day. Jack had dug a grave under her favourite tree in the garden. Amy and Anna had cried for hours up in Amy's bedroom, after they found Christine's dead body. However, at 11am they went into the garden. Amy wiped her eyes and placed some flowers on her mother's grave.
"I would like to say a few words," she told
